CHILDREN KILLED IN U.S., OTHERS STABBED IN CHINA

USA, MAN KILLS 26 AT CONNECTICUT SCHOOL
CHINA, MAN SLASHES 22 CHILDREN AT SCHOOL
News Agencies - In the US: A man opened fire Friday inside the Connecticut elementary school where his mother worked as a teacher, killing 26 people, including 20 children, as youngsters cowered in their classrooms and trembled helplessly to the sound of gunfire reverberating through the building. The killer, identified as Adam Lanza, 20, armed with two handguns, committed suicide and another person was found dead at a second scene, bringing the toll to 28, authorities said. The attack, coming less than two weeks before Christmas, was the nation's second-deadliest school shooting, exceeded only by the Virginia Tech massacre that left 33 people dead in 2007.
Schoolchildren - some crying, others looking frightened - were escorted through a parking lot in a line, hands on each other's shoulders. “Our hearts are broken today,” a tearful President Barack Obama, struggling to maintain composure, said at the White House. He called for “meaningful action” to prevent such shootings.

In China: A man with a knife slashed 22 children and one adult outside an elementary school in Henan province Friday morning; China's worst such incident in more than a year. The attack was reminiscent of a spate of knife attacks on schoolchildren that took place across China in 2010. In most cases, the attackers were unemployed middle-aged men, leading to speculation that the assaults stemmed from economic and social discontent. Friday's attack occurred at about 7:40 a.m. as children were arriving outside the gate of Chenpeng Village’s Wanquan Elementary School. The suspect, Min Yingjun, 36, allegedly slashed an elderly woman as well as the children.
Local propaganda officials said later that Min had a psychological illness. In 2010, nearly 20 children were killed and 50 wounded in a string of copycat incidents around central China. China has strict gun control laws, so knives are the weapon of choice in violent crimes.

In the USA, a heavily armed gunman opened fire inside a Connecticut elementary school on Friday, killing 26 people, including 20 children, in the latest in a series of shooting rampages across the United States this year. The gunman, 20-year-old Adam Lana, killed 18 children and six adults at the school and two wounded children died later in the hospital. His mother was a teacher at the school and is also believed to have been killed. Most of the fatalities happened in her classroom. Also on Friday morning, Chinese Police detained a man, Min Yingjun, 36, suspected of using a knife to injure 22 students and a villager at the gate of a primary school in Guangshan county in the city of Xinyang, Central China's Henan province. The injured students were sent to hospitals but their injuries were not considered life-threatening. The motive behind the attack remains unclear and the case is still under investigation.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
The present-day world appears to be running fast towards destruction. As per Indian scriptural evidence, the conditioned souls are enveloped by Lord’s illusory energy consisting of three primal qualities - Sattva, Rajah, and Tamah.  ‘Tamah’ indicates tendency to commit vice or to inflict injury.  In fact, Tamah tendency has now engulfed the whole world and is spreading over like fire and showing its most monstrous destructive ugly appearance.  The sagacious persons are bewildered to find any solution of this terrible tendency of violence. ... Lord does not think much about sins of other living beings who have got no such discriminating power. They do actions out of instinct. But God has bestowed discriminating power to human beings. In spite of that if they commit heinous crimes, surely they will be punished. They will never be spared. They are lowering the status of humanity. We may commit heinous crimes by deceiving ignorant human beings, beasts and birds, but we cannot deceive Supreme Lord Who is Omniscient. Lord is residing in the heart of every individual soul.

INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST CHILD ABUSE

NO ROOM FOR COMPLACENCY TO PREVENT
AND PROHIBIT CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN
http://www.unric.org - Five top United Nations child rights experts today urged world Governments to adopt more active measures to protect children from all forms of violence, prevent the perpetration of crimes against children and to bring to justice those responsible for child sexual exploitation and for the recruitment and use of children in armed conflict. On Universal Children's Day, the UN experts highlighted the urgency of achieving universal ratification and effective implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and its three optional protocols.
In May 2010 the UN Secretary-General launched a two-year global campaign for the universal ratification of the first two Optional Protocols by 2012 with the joint support of his Special Representatives on Violence against Children, and for Children and Armed Conflict; the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child and the Special Rapporteur on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography, in cooperation with UNICEF and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

“These treaties are key to the safeguard of children's rights and their effective protection from violence, abuse and exploitation in peace and conflict,” the experts stressed.  Since the launch of the campaign, 24 Member States have ratified the Optional Protocol on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography which is now in force in 161 countries; and 18 States have become party to the Optional Protocol on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict amounting to a total of 150 ratifications.
In December 2011, the General Assembly adopted the third Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, introducing a communications procedure to enable children to obtain redress for the violations of their rights. “There can be no room for complacency in our struggle to eliminate violence against children,” stressed Marta Santos Pais, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Violence against Children. “We are nearing the goal of universal ratification, strengthening children's protection from violence and bringing to an end impunity for incidents of sexual abuse and exploitation. Ratification is a crucial step but only the start of a demanding process of implementation.”

Two International observances are highlighted this week. Yesterday, November 19th, the “International Day of Child Abuse Prevention” and today, 20th of November, the “Universal Children’s Day.” The International Day against Child Abuse aims to create a culture of prevention around the world by encouraging governments and community organizations to play more active roles in protecting children and the Universal Children's Day, emphasizes the rights of the child to be protected and loved. The five child rights experts insisted on the crucial need to place child rights as a priority in the policy agenda and to implement all necessary measures to ensure the effective promotion and protection of the rights of all children, without discrimination. Preventing child abuse and neglect requires all of our efforts; from policy-makers, to community and parents. Everyone should be involved in put and end to violence against children and to look out for their welfare.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
In the glorious days, or before the advent of the age of Kali, the brāhmanas, the cows, the women, the children and the old men were properly given protection. ... The protection of children gives the human form of life its best chance to prepare the way of liberty from material bondage. Such protection of children begins from the very day of begetting a child by the purificatory process of garbhādhāna-samskāra, the beginning of pure life. ... This complete outlook is based on factors leading to successful humanity as against the civilization of polished cats and dogs. The killing of the above-mentioned innocent creatures is totally forbidden because even by insulting them one loses one's duration of life. In the age of Kali they are not properly protected, and therefore the duration of life of the present generation has shortened considerably.

GAZA KIDS AT RISK IN CROWDED URBAN BATTLE ZONE

GAZA’S CHILDREN FACE GRAVE RISKS
IN CROWDED URBAN BATTLE ZONE
http://jordantimes.com - The image of a dead preschooler cradled by the prime ministers of Egypt and Gaza in a hospital hallway has drawn attention to the dangers Gaza’s children face in this crowded urban battle zone. Children make up half of Gaza’s population of 1.6 million and seem to be everywhere in the current round of cross-border fighting between Israel and Gaza’s Hamas rulers. Children loitered Friday outside a Gaza City morgue for a glance at the latest “martyrs”. Others followed adults to funerals or even rushed to the site where Israeli missiles had just struck a government building and fire was still smoldering.
Despite outward bravado, young boys of elementary school age said quietly that fear of air strikes kept them awake at night. So far, six of 28 Palestinians killed in Israel’s offensive this week have been children, ranging in age from just under 1 to 14 years, according to Gaza health officials.

Most were killed by shrapnel while in or near their homes. In Israel, 12 children were hurt in rocket attacks this week. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Hamas of using Gaza’s civilians, particularly children, as human shields by launching rockets from crowded residential areas. Gazans argue that Israel is unleashing massive air strikes on their territory without regard for civilians. They say that even Israel’s self-described surgical strikes on targets put civilians at grave risk in Gaza, one of the world’s most densely populated places.
Mahmoud Sadallah, the four-year-old Gaza boy whose death moved Egypt’s prime minister to tears, was from the town of Jebaliya, close to Gaza City. It was said the boy died in an Israeli air strike. Israel vehemently denied involvement, saying it had not carried out any attacks in the area at the time. Gaza’s two leading human rights groups, which routinely investigate civilian deaths, withheld judgement, saying they were unable to reach the area because of continued danger.

More children have been killed and several injured in the latest Israeli. It is warned that hundreds of thousands of youngsters trapped in Gaza face prolonged power cuts and depleting supplies of food and water. The conflict between Israel and Gaza will have a devastating affect on children who make up nearly half the 1.6 million population of the Gaza Strip. President Barack Obama said he had been in touch with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as the leaders of Egypt and Turkey as international attempts to broker a cease-fire continued. United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon added his voice to growing calls for a ceasefire saying he was heading to the region to personally appeal for an end to the violence. The truly solution will come when we adhere to a God conscious philosophy and we understand that God as the supreme father and all living entities - without distinction - are sons of Him.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
When we forget this philosophy - that Krishna is the supreme father, Krishna is the supreme proprietor, Krishna is the supreme enjoyer, and Krishna is the supreme friend of everyone -  when we forget this, then we come into this material world and struggle for existence, fight with one another. This is material life.  Nor can we get any relief through our politicians, diplomats, philosophers. They have tried so much, but actually nothing they have tried has become fruitful. Take the United Nations. It was organized after the second Great War, and they wanted, “We shall now settle everything peacefully.”  But there is no such thing.  The fighting is going on, between Pakistan and India or between Vietnam and America or this and that. Mundane politics and diplomacy and philosophy - this is not the process.  The process is Krishna consciousness. Everyone has to understand this point, that we are not proprietors. The actual proprietor is Krishna. That's a fact. ... Artificially we are claiming, "It is my property." This is called maya, illusion.

MOM SELLS GIRL, 13, AS SEX SLAVE

SOUTH AFRICAN 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL SOLD
FOR PROSTITUTION BY HER OWN MOTHER
Cape Town (www.iol.co.za) - Western Cape police are hunting a mom who allegedly sold her 13-year-old daughter as a sex slave for just R50 a time. The woman allegedly regularly took her little girl to bushes or outside shebeens and rented her out to men. She allegedly used the money to feed her own alcohol addiction as her little one was being raped.
The alleged abuse only came to light when the girl told one of her friends who in turn alerted their teacher. The girl is now being cared for at a shelter run by Atlantis ward councillor and abuse councillor Barbara Rass. “I have to applaud the teacher, the silence was broken,” Rass said. “It seems everyone knew what was going on but no one protected her… no one intervened at any point. If she didn’t tell her friend and that teacher, this would have been continuing.
A case was formally opened with the police who are investigating a case of rape and child prostitution.

Rass - who has 35 years experience serving the community and fighting on behalf of victims of sex attacks - was close to tears as she spoke of the horrific case. She said the teen told her how her mother would allegedly lure her to shebeens to have sex with old men. “The mother would take her to the shebeen yard and say ‘here is a man for you’,” said Barbara.
Waste removal trucks chugged along the main dusty road leading out of the area which is surrounded by bush and shacks. The traumatised teen finally ended up in the care of the police last week. Her skeletal frame and dark eyes hint at the awful pain she has endured. She fidgeted nervously as she revealed that she lived with her mom and stepfather, who frequently called her foul names. Local community leaders are demanding the arrest of the girl’s mom. And they want her to point out all the perverts that paid her to have sex with her underage child. Police sources confirmed they are hunting for the girl’s mother.

This 13-year-old South African girl from the farm Frankdale near Atlantis was sold for prostitution by her own mom, in order to satisfy her mother's vice of drinking alcohol. The young girl spoke - in the presence of her temporary guardians - about the abuse she has suffered. “I feel no mercy should be given to mothers who sell their own offspring. The court should deal with her like they would deal with someone who had underage sex with a minor. She was being sold for R50, this is disgusting. I want the mother to be exposed,” demanded Barbara Rass, a councilor specializing in sexual abuse issues. Authorities are drawing up a list of the names of the girl’s alleged attackers, but so far no arrests have been made. Until then, their main concern is to keep the girl safe from new further abuses. The extreme neglect to comply with the duty of caring the helpless ones is when mothers allow their own daughters to be abused in order to satisfy their vices.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
"The brāhmaṇas, the cows and the defenseless creatures are My own body. ..." (SB 3.16.10) The defenseless creatures, according to Brahma-samhitā, are the cows, brāhmanas, women, children and old men. ... Just as children are taken care of by the parents, women as a class should be taken care of by the father, husband or grown-up son. Those who are helpless must be taken care of by their respective guardians, otherwise the guardians will be subjected to the punishment of Yamarāja, who is appointed by the Lord to supervise the activities of sinful living creatures. The assistants, or messengers, of Yamarāja are likened here to vultures, and those who do not execute their respective duties in protecting their wards are compared to serpents. Vultures deal very seriously with serpents, and similarly the messengers will deal very seriously with neglectful guardians.

ANOTHER VICTIM OF BULLYING NOW IN ARGENTINA

ARGENTINIAN GIRL VICTIM OF
SCHOOL VIOLENCE IS PARAPLEGIC
www.diariouno.com.ar - A girl from the province of Corrientes, Argentina, became paraplegic after suffering a case of "bullying" in her school performed by one schoolmate who "harassed" her steadily as her mother remarked. Claudia Jesi, told that her daughter  of 11 years old named Abril, suffered a stroke between the fourth and fifth vertebrae during a physical education class in the Normal School in the town of Mercedes. She was pushed by another child.
The victim had to be admitted at the "John Paul II" pediatric hospital in the provincial capital of Corrientes and lot of rehabilitation will be required to improve her condition during at least six months. However, it is not known yet whether she can recover. "Abril lost sensation in the legs because she suddenly fell, and all the weight was against the column, if it had not raised her head she would broke the skull," said the girl's mother. The girl who hit and dropped her been was bothering and pushing Abril for some time.

According to Abril's mother, the other girl "was upset" because her daughter "was the Queen of Spring in her class, and she is nice and very dear." As she fell she lost her breath, so the teacher made her the first practices to make her breathe again. "She was under observation in the hospital and then she was resting in my house, but some days later she lost all the feeling. They did the MRI. The bone has a hit between the fourth and fifth vertebrae and has up to six months of rehabilitation," said the mother.
"The school authorities are concerned. The issue of having a paraplegic girl due another class mate actions obviously involves us all. This is a case of bullying, but I never thought it would come to that. Now Abril is not walking, she must be diapered like a baby, it's hard ... but you have to face reality," said the grieving mother. School harassment, better known as "bullying" is becoming more common in schools around the world and even teenagers who had to suffer this kind of situations reached the edge of killed themselves.

Abril, an Argentinian girl of 11 years old, was attacked by a class mate during a physical education class, and after a push she badly fell and suffered a blow to the vertebrae. It is not known if she can walk again. The relatives alleged that she suffered harassment for some time, and the aggression was because she is nice and provoked the envy of other girls. She has "at least six months of rehabilitation" but doctors can not be sure if she will recover from paralysis. Marcela Fernández, from the Pablo Nicolás Association, an organization that works in preventing school violence, said that "sometimes such violent attacks happen because we are dealing with ciberbullyng: children are harassed each other for hours through social networks and when they met the violence becomes exaggerated". Another sad event. Say NO to Bullying!

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
Our mundane feelings of attraction and aversion for material objects light the fire of envy, egoism, and hatred so much so that it seems they have the ability to destroy this world. If even a drop of pure affection arises in our hearts for the incarnation of Mahaprabhu’s magnanimity, then no place will remain for these animal propensities like hatred, jealousy, or violence to others. ... How can any attachment or hatred for material objects find a place in the heart where attachment to the guru, the eternal associate of Srimati Radharani, has awakened? In such a heart, there is constant awareness of the absolute necessity of attaining the supreme goal of life, loving service to Sri Krishna. This alone is the ultimate purpose of life for every single living entity.

URUGUAY APOLOGIZES OVER ALLEGED HAITI SEX ASSAULT

URUGUAY APOLOGIZES TO HAITI
FOR ALLEGED SEX ABUSE
Montevideo (AFP) - Uruguay’s president has apologized or the “outrage” carried out by peacekeepers accused of sexually assaulting a young Haitian man and vowed the “maximum penalty” for anyone found guilty. The soldiers, who were based in southern Haiti, stand accused of raping an 18-year-old man in the small coastal town of Port-Salut. Video footage of the alleged attack on a Uruguayan base has been circulated on the Internet. “I come at this terrible time to offer you and the dear and heroic people of Haiti my apologies for the outrage that some soldiers of my country committed,” Uruguay’s President Jose Mujica said in a letter. “I share your sadness, which I feel as my own,” he said, adding that authorities would investigate and apply the “maximum penalty” to those responsible.

Uruguay’s defense minister had earlier admitted that the incident had caused “a lot of damage” to the armed forces, which provide around 2,400 peacekeepers worldwide, mostly in Haiti and the Democratic Republic of Congo.  The five peacekeepers accused of sexual assault must be tried in their home country for any crimes allegedly committed during their deployments abroad.  Haitian President Michel Martelly has condemned the alleged attack and demanded a detailed report on the exact circumstances of the incident, according to his office.  Martelly has also requested a meeting between Haitian officials and UN mission staff so that “measures can immediately be taken to ensure that such acts do not reoccur,” his office said in a statement. On Monday, hundreds of people demonstrated in Port-Salut to demand justice for the alleged victim, while some Haitians have asked for the UN mission - in the country since 2004 - to be shut down.

Several hundred Haitians demonstrated Monday in support of an 18-year-old man who says he was sexually assaulted by peacekeepers from Uruguay on a U.N. base along the southern coast of Haiti. Uruguay’s President Jose Mujica has apologized to Haiti for alleged sex abuse involving his country’s peacekeepers in the Caribbean nation, and promised that those responsible will receive the maximum penalties.  It is said that the UN mission - formed to help maintain peace - has already committed other anti-social actions in Haiti.  When it comes to sex and violence, heartless and lustful men do not distinguish between male and female.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
For the practitioner of devotional service, dhairya - patience  - is extremely necessary. Those who possess the quality of dhairya are called dhira, sober. Due to lack of this quality, men become restless. Those who are impatient cannot do any work. By the quality of dhairya, a practitioner controls first himself and then the whole world. ... There are six types of urges: namely, the urges of speech, mind, anger, belly, tongue, and genitals. ... The urge of the genital is formidable for persons who are averse to the Lord. In the Shrimad Bhagavatam (11.5.11) it is said: “In this material world the conditioned soul is always inclined to sex, meat-eating, and intoxication. Therefore religious scriptures never actually encourage such activities.” ... Persons who are filled with attachment for material enjoyment can never tolerate the urge of the genital.

ELEVEN KILLED, 66 INJURED IN DELHI TERROR ATTACK

‘BRIEFCASE BOMB’ EXPLODES
OUTSIDE NEW DELHI HIGH COURT
New Delhi (AP) - A bomb exploded outside New Delhi’s High Court on Wednesday, killing at least 11 people and injuring 66, in an act of suspected terrorism in the heart of India’s capital that further heightened concerns about the nation’s security vulnerabilities.  The high-intensity blast occurred at 10:14 a.m. near the courthouse reception area. Officials said they believed the bomb was placed in a briefcase.  Addressing reporters in Bangladesh, where he has been visiting, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said, “We will never succumb to pressure from terrorists. All political parties must unite to crush the scourge of terror.”  Indian news channels said the Islamist militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami had claimed responsibility for the attack in an email to media organizations.

The bombing appears to be the worst attack in India’s capital since blasts at shopping centers in 2008 that left 22 people dead. Security experts say Wednesday’s bombing is particularly worrying because it comes three months after a low-intensity explosion outside the same courthouse in New Delhi, reflecting a lackluster response by the government. The May blast didn’t result in any injuries.  India vowed to redouble efforts to crack down on terrorism after the country suffered its worst-ever terrorist attack nearly three years ago in Mumbai, when Pakistan-based gunmen rampaged through the city and killed 166 people. But despite some moves to beef up intelligence gathering coordination and strengthen police capabilities, attacks have continued. In July, a series of bombs ripped through crowded shopping areas in Mumbai, killing 20 people and injuring 131. Police have yet to name any suspects for those blasts.

Two months after 26 people were killed in Mumbai (Bombay), Delhi has been attacked again.  A bomb apparently hidden in a briefcase has exploded outside India’s high court in New Delhi, killing 11 and wounding at least 66.  Some analysts feared these attacks, culminating in the July attack in Mumbai, signaled an effort to regroup by the Indian Mujahedeen - a domestic militant group blamed for many of the 2008 attacks.  Violent humans beings are causing unnatural death regardless of the innocence of the murdered women and children. By doing so, they are attacking human dignity itself.

MISSING LITTLE GIRL FOUND DEAD IN ARGENTINA

AFTER 9 DAYS MISSING, 11-YEAR OLD
ARGENTINEAN GIRL WAS FOUND DEAD
www.buenosairesherald.com - The mother of missing 11-year old Candela Rodríguez, Carola Labrador, identified her daughter’s body, which was found inside a plastic bag on the side of the Oeste Highway, in Morón.  “They killed my daughter!” she said after seeing her body, and suffered a nervous breakdown.  Buenos Aires Governor Daniel Scioli was also at the site, accompanying her.  While police authorities were combing the area, a witness assured she had found a bag containing the body of a young girl which has been dead for three days. She was not wearing any clothes and her body showed signs of violence. Residents in the Hurlingham area were seen in shock after the unexpected outcome.  They had held several vigils and marches, demanding for her immediate appearance.  On Tuesday, a 48-hour campaign featuring many Argentine celebrities was started, in hopes it would raise awareness about the girl’s disappearance.

The last time Candela Rodríguez was seen alive, she was heading towards a church a few blocks away from her home, where she was scheduled to meet other girl scouts who were waiting for her. Police authorities were looking into several theories of her abduction that ranged from a human trafficking case to a revenge exacted on her father, currently in prison over a truck robbery. According to police authorities, only 48 hours earlier Candela’s mother had received several threatening phone calls, warning her that if she “didn’t return the money” her daughter would turn up dead.  In the last few days, over 1600 policemen were searching for the girl and authorities will now investigate to identify the culprits of such a heinous crime that has shocked an entire country.

An Argentinean missing 11-year-old girl, whose disappearance in Buenos Aires gripped the nation and sparked a celebrity-led campaign to locate her, was found dead.  The girl’s mother had received several threatening phone calls earlier in the week, warning her that if she “didn’t return the money” her daughter would turn up dead.  Authorities said Candela Rodriguez’s body was not wearing any clothes and had been dead for three days. The autopsy revealed that the girl was killed by asphyxiation 7 days after being captive. The purpose of society should be to live in peace and always avoid acts of cruelty so everyone can advance spiritually.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
Persons who are attached to sinful activities generally become envious and violent toward other living entities.  Committing violence is a heinous sin.  It is everyone’s duty to give up violence.  Violence toward human beings is the gravest sin. ... Violence toward other living entities is the root of all sinful activities.  Those who are fortunate enough to engage in Krishna’s devotional service naturally do not possess a propensity for violence. ... There are three kinds of violence: violence toward human beings, violence toward animals, and violence toward demigods. Violence is born from hate. ... There are two types of cruelty, cruelty toward humans and cruelty toward animals.  Cruelty toward men and women causes great disturbances in the world. When people practice cruelty toward one another, compassion leaves the world and irreligiousness in the form of cruelty become prominent. (Caitanya-siksamrta 2/5)

TORTURE CAMP REVEALED IN ZIMBABWE

DIAMOND “TORTURE CAMP”
DISCOVERED IN ZIMBABWE
London (www.nytimes.com) - Britain has urged the authorities in Zimbabwe to investigate a BBC report that its security forces are beating and raping prisoners at two camps in the Marange diamond fields in the east of the country. International monitors voted to allow exports from the fields to resume in June despite objections from the United States, Canada and the European Union.  The BBC’s documentary program “Panorama” said the camps hold workers who were recruited by the police and the military to dig illegally for diamonds for them, but who then demand too large a share of the profits or civilians caught mining for themselves.  A  released prisoner who was not named said guards at the camps were beating prisoners three times a day, with 40 lashes at a time.  Dogs were loosed to bite shackled inmates, and imprisoned women were frequently raped, the program said.  The Zimbabwean authorities offered no immediate comment.

The government of President Robert Mugabe has been working to increase its legal sales of diamonds. Mr. Mugabe’s political opponents fear that he will use diamond income to finance a violent campaign to win elections that are likely to be held next year.  One of the torture camps identified, Diamond Base, is about a mile from the Mbada mine, which the BBC says is run by a friend of Mr. Mugabe. Witnesses cited by the program described Diamond Base as “a remote collection of military tents, with an outdoor razor-wire enclosure” to hold the prisoners.  “They beat us 40 whips in the morning, 40 in the afternoon and 40 in the evening,” said the man, who still could not use one of his arms after the beatings and could barely walk.  “They used logs to beat me here, under my feet, as I lay on the ground. They also used stones to beat my ankles.”

A torture camp run by Zimbabwe’s security forces is operating in the country’s rich Marange diamond fields and it is known locally as “Diamond Base”.  Witnesses said it is a remote collection of military tents, with an outdoor razor wire enclosure where the prisoners are kept.  They are routinely subjected to rape; sexual assault; severe beatings and some are mauled by dogs.  Civilians are recruited to illegally dig for diamonds for them and they are taken to the camps for punishment if they demand too large a share of the profits.  There are many kinds of vikarma, such as greed, cruelty, violence and lust for the wives of others.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
The more you try to satisfy your senses, the more you will come under the control of lust, greed and anger. Lust is there when you want to satisfy your material desires. Greed is there when you want more than you need.  Anger will always be there in some form when you fail to achieve what you want, or when you attain it but then lose it. The unmerciful masters of lust, greed and anger will never leave you alone. ... A good standard of morals must be followed because such rules promote the prosperity of social life.  If a standard of morals is not followed, then the lack of respect people will have for each other, and the crimes that follow, will force all social happiness to quickly disappear.  Therefore, we should cultivate the principle sentiments of love, kindness, friendship, and mercy, for the promotion of social good and prosperity.

CONSUMED VIAGRA TO ABUSE HIS DAUGHTER AND DIED

MAN DIES FROM OVERDOSE OF VIAGRA WHILE
HAVING INTERCOURSE WITH HIS DAUGHTER OF 16
SANTIAGO (Chile) - One man died of a heart stroke caused by an overdose of Viagra in Villarrica. The victim, at death, was having sex with his 16 year old daughter with whom he already had a baby. Police sources reported that “A man of 40 years died in Chile due to an overdose of Viagra. After he began to have convulsions, the Emergency Services were alerted and he was taken to the local hospital, where he died, due to a cardiac arrest.” Braulio Contreras, deputy of the Criminal Investigation (PDI) stated that “The deceased, Juan Carlos Valdes Traimaqueo, suffered a stroke after ingesting two tablets of Viagra to have sex with his daughter at a motel in Villarrica, southern Chile.” And that “The worst thing was that the rest of the family and his wife were aware of the relationship that both had”. The Sex Crimes Squad of the PDI Temuco performs research on this case to find out why this father committed the crime of incest. It was established that the child had been sexually violated by her biological father since she was 14 years old. It was also found that due to this, the girl became pregnant, having a daughter with his father, now a year and a half old, "said Jaime Woldarsky prefect, head of the Brigade.

After pregnancy, the sexual abuses of the father against his own daughter continued. The family was aware of the abuses, "but did not report the crimes, to maintain an image of the father as head of the family at home", added the sub-prefect. In the case of the younger woman said not remember when the abuse started against him, so it is presumed that these were initiated when the victim was young, so no resistance to these facts. "It was apparently accustomed to these events and assumed as something perfectly normal," said the official of the PDI.

The Manu Samhita: 2-215 (Laws of Manu) claims that lustful desires are so strong that “even if one is highly advanced, materially or spiritually, he may be sexually attracted to his mother, sister or daughter”. If you think that Vedic sastras exaggerate, just read this kind of news and you will realize how strong the spell of sexual attachment is.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
In this material world everyone is attracted by sex. ... but this same sex happiness is also there in the hogs. The hogs eat the whole day, here and there -“Where is stool? Where is stool?” - and then have sex without any discrimination. The hog does not discriminate whether he has sex with his mother, sister, or daughter. So, the sastra says we are encaged in this material world only for sex. ... The aim of human life is to get out of the clutches of the material world. ... And it all begins with our attraction for madana, the pleasure of sex.

TOMORROW, MARCH FOR THE ”UNBORN CHILD DAY”

SPAIN AND LATIN AMERICA
TO MARCH AND PRAY FOR LIFE
MADRID (CNA) - With the recent approval of new abortion law in Spain, various secular institutions expressed their active participation in the “World Day for Life” which will be held on Thursday 25 March, under the motto “Unborn Child Day” with the aim of promoting the repeal of the new law. In all Spanish cities vigils, Eucharist or Rosaries for life, will be conducted.

As pointed HazteOir.org, “what began as a demonstration to call attention to the new abortion law, in March 2009, it has become an appointment with a vocation for renewal every year and with an immediate goal: the repeal of the new law. ”

In Madrid, “the president of HazteOir.org, Ignacio Arsuaga, will read one of the prayers (requests for the sacrament), during the Eucharistic celebration presided by Cardinal Antonio Maria Rouco Varela, at the Almudena Cathedral,
” the organizers explain. Also in several Spanish cities will be held peaceful demonstrations against abortion centers.

In Peru, the March for Life, under the Unborn Child Day, is organized by Ceprofarena (Center for Family and Promotion of Natural Fertility Regulation) in coordination with the Archbishop of Lima. In Venezuela, the Episcopal Conference (CEV) which since 2000 has held the Week for Life, will promote the Unborn Child Day.
In Argentina, there will be masses and awareness activities and also demand for
the defense of life since the moment of conception”.
The same will happen in Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia and many other Latin American countries.

Since “conception” and throughout pregnancy, the soul is present in the womb. The soul enters using the semen of the father as a vehicle. Germ cells of dad and mom come together under the supervision of Paramatma, who allows the soul to enter into the “emulsion” formed by sperm and egg, thus pregnancy is produced.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
The soul is transferred to the semen of a man who is just suitable to become his father. During sexual intercourse, the soul is transferred through the semen of the father into the mother's womb in order to produce a particular type of body. … it is not the semen of the man that creates life within the womb of a woman; rather, the living entity, the soul, takes shelter in a particle of semen and is then pushed into the womb of a woman. Then the body develops. There is no possibility of creating a living entity without the presence of the soul simply by sexual intercourse.
