NEW YORKERS ARE THE MOST STRESSED OUT - A new study shows at least half of Americans are living with some stress - and more report stress levels that could affect their health and relationships. A survey by Harris Interactive and the American Psychological Association found 25 % of American parents considered their stress “extremely high” and another 51 % said they feel moderate stress. Some of the main causes: Money, work, and job stability. And children are affected by it. The study says more than 90 % of kids reported having a stressed-out parent. But three-quarters of parents said their stress has only a slight or no impact on their children. This new survey also reveals that New Yorkers are the most stressed-out people in America. The study showed that 75 % of city dwellers say the poor economy is their top worry - 10 percentage points higher than the rest of the country. This American Psychological Association’s survey has shown that money appears to be the root of all stresses, or at least a whole lot of them in today’s shaken, uncertain economy.

A survey summary says that money and money-related issues are the top sources of stress, and that stress related to employment (or lack thereof) is rising. Stress can make a host of health problems worse, like headaches, stomach issues, and heart disease.
The most common physical symptoms of stress reported were irritability (45 %), fatigue (41 %) and lack of energy or motivation (38 %). People are tired, their diets are bad, and they are not taking care of themselves physically or mentally.

A new study finds Americans suffer from high level of stress and that New Yorkers are also more stressed than average Americans, principally over economy, health issues, housing costs and personal safety, which directly involve money. But not only Americans, near all people in this world are stressed about money problems, and/or not having enough of it, and/or not knowing where in the world to get more. People should chant the Holy Names of the Supreme Lord. Our gurus have taught us that if one offencelessly chants Krishna's Name even once, then Krishna will liberate him from any material bondage, stress and mental depression included.

It is commonly believed that mantras can carry hidden power which can in turn produce certain effects. ... Spiritual disciplines recommend meditational practices such as silent meditation, silent recitation of mantras and also the verbal repetition of specific mantras out loud. A Clinical Test of the Benefits of Mantra Chanting was performed on three groups of sixty-two subjects, males and females of average age 25. They chanted the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra twenty-five minutes each day under strict clinical supervision. Results showed that regular chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra reduces Stress and depression and helps reduce bad habits & addictions. These results formed a PhD Thesis at Florida State University. Spiritual practitioners claim many benefits from Mantra Meditation such as increased realization of spiritual wisdom, inner peace and a strong communion with God and the spiritual realm. These effects may be experienced by following the designated spiritual path.
