www.adguk-blog.com - The timing of astral disembodiment in which the spirit leaves the body has been captured by Russian scientist Konstantin Korotkov, who photographed a person at the moment of his death with a bioelectrographic camera. The image taken using the gas discharge visualization method, an advanced technique of Kirlian photography, shows in blue the life force of the person leaving the body gradually. According to Korotkov, navel and head are the parties who first lose their life force (which would be the soul) and the groin and the heart are the last areas where the spirit before surfing the phantasmagoria of the infinite.

In other cases according to Korotkov has noted that “the soul” of people who suffer a violent and unexpected death usually manifests a state of confusion in your power settings and return to the body in the days following death. This could be due to a surplus of unused energy. The technique developed by Korotkov, who is director of the Research Institute of Physical Culture, St. Petersburg, is endorsed as a medical technology by the Ministry of Health of Russia and is used by more than 300 doctors in the world for stress and monitoring progress of patients treated for diseases such as cancer. Korotkov says his energy imaging technique could be used to watch all kinds of imbalances biophysical and diagnose in real time and also to show if a person does have psychic powers or is a fraud.

These experiments about person's bioenergy field are not new. Since many years researchers has developed instruments which allow measuring the influence of spirituality on the human energy field. This method of Electrophotonic Imaging (EPI) also known by another name, Gas Discharge Visualisation (GDV), has demonstrated the influence of spiritual ceremonies, sacred places and spiritual healing in individuals. The EPI method is also used to study altered states of consciousness (ASC) which are achieved when a person enters during yoga meditation, mental training, religious ecstasy, or when under the influence of drugs, psychedelics or anesthesia. Our spiritual masters have noted that the material body is divided into the gross body and the subtle or astral body. The gross body is made of the five elemental states of solid, liquid, fire, air and space, which combine to form the physical bodies we inhabit. The astral body is made of a sense of false ego, intelligence and mind. But we have to know that we are not the body, neither the physical or mental (astral) body, for we are the eternal feeling soul. For this reason, the attempt to perform astral travels or to come out of body and discover something in the mental or astral fields or spheres is not a recommended process of Krishna Consciousness. The theme of the gross body and the astral body is often ignored by people. The ignorance of our current society about it comes from the lack of understanding that the human being is not the gross body. ... The astral or subtle body is also material, as the mind, intelligence and false ego (ahankara or the wrongly identification of the being with matter), are material. Inside the subtle body there are all the memory registers and all the information you need to get a new body, and an assessment is made ​​by the law of karma. ... CONSUMERISM IN UN ASSEMBLY SPEECH

http://www.un.org - In his address to the United Nations General Assembly, the President of Uruguay today urged the international community to strengthen efforts to preserve the planet for future generations. Speaking to world leaders gathered at the General Debate of the Assembly’s 68th session, President José Mujica said that “the world cries out for global rules that respect the achievements of science.” 
He noted that “with talent and teamwork” man can green the deserts, farm the sea and devise methods to use salt water for farming, among other innovations. “A world with better humanity is possible, but maybe today the first priority is to save lives,” the Uruguayan President said.

In his speech, Mr. Mujica highlighted the power of the financial systems and the economic fallout which has the greatest impact on ordinary people. He urged a return to simplicity, with lives founded on human relationships, love, friendship, adventure, solidarity and family, instead of ones with people shackled to the economy and the markets.
Later, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with Mr. Mujica in a bilateral meeting in which the two officials discussed several issues on the global agenda, according to a UN spokesperson. In particular, Mr. Ban welcomed Uruguay work in support of UN peace efforts, being one of the highest per-capita contributors to UN peacekeeping operations worldwide.

We agree with Uruguayan president Jose Mujica who in a fiery speech before the UN General Assembly, criticized consumerism and waste, electronic surveillance which ‘poisons’ relations among nations, called for a true globalization and blasted individual greed which has “far outstripped the superior greed of the human specie”. He also said that politics had succumbed to economics and has become a mere administrator of what the financial system does not control and criticized the ‘bureaucratization’ of the UN because it lacks of truly power and autonomy. Human civilization must be attached to the natural rhythm of production that nature dictates, without attempting artificial economic development which has led the world into a chaos of greed and illusory power, seeking the goal of enjoying petty luxuries and only satisfy the senses. This is no more than the life of dogs and pigs. Economic development based on our own tools and equipment, is not everything. We must take refuge under the protection of the Supreme Lord because without His sanction, and despite all the great technological development, society will continue going towards failure. (Editor's note).

How could we live in this society in collapse? Practically we rely on an economy of disaster, the one which is happening today in the world: monopolization, centralization, state indifference, which is leading us to a disaster. It's like monoculture agriculture; people take more money when they poison the land and cultivate using a giant tractor, but when they use pesticides not only pests die but new and more resistant pests are appearing; land is sick, it becomes sterile and this forces the use of more venom and chemical fertilizers. ... We can not see very clearly this scenario because we are being informed by a totally biased media, who have their own participation and only serve the interests of the industry, not the interest of the general population. The media are very crooked, and a citizen scarcely can have access to information of the real consequences that this chaos is going to take.

CAMPAIGN AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN INDIA

ABUSED HINDU GODDESSES:
INDIAN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CAMPAIGN

- The bruised and beaten faces of these beautiful Hindu goddesses have an important point to make - that despite the reverence for women that is a part of Hinduism, India's most populous religion, the country has become extremely unsafe for its female citizens. Ad agency Taproot's arresting campaign tackles the problem of domestic violence and sex trafficking to benefit Save Our Sisters, an initiative of Save the Children India which seeks to prevent sexual exploitation. 
The campaign features the goddesses Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswati. The campaign declares, “Pray that we never see this day. Today, more than 68% of women in India are victims of domestic violence. Tomorrow, it seems like no woman shall be spared. Not even the ones we pray to.”

India was rocked by a brutal case of gang-rape and murder last year, sparking a national conversation about the need for harsher laws against rape. Jyoti Singh was repeatedly violated on a bus in December 2012, naming her attackers before dying from injuries sustained during the horrific assault. 244,270 crimes against women were reported last year, according to the BBC. 
Images of the goddesses Saraswati, Durga, and Lakshmi can be found all over the country, but none like these have ever been seen before. Hopefully their powerful impact will reduce the occurrence of real-life versions. A number is provided to report abuse to the Save Our Sisters charity - an initiative that works to prevent the trafficking of young girls and women for the purposes of sexual exploitation. The Abused Goddesses series won a 'Lotus' award for Indian ad agency Taproot in March.

The combination of religious Deities with the results of violence against women make for a powerful message in this Indian domestic violence campaign which shows the hipocrisy of men who worship female Deities and at the same time are abusing women. Featuring the Hindu Goddesses Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswati, the shots show the women in typical serene yet powerful poses. But each Goddess bears the scars of physical violence - a graze, black eye, a fat lip and cuts. Our spiritual teachers have taught us that it is contradictory to say: "I love God but hate those who do not satisfy my own lust or my ambition." Who is the fool who thinks that God will be pleased with our gift at the altar while mistreat the weaker members of our family? How can God be pleased with us if we mistreat and neglect and abuse of women in our own homes? Just being especially kind, friendly and protective of the weaker members of society - such as women and children - we can receive the mercy and grace of Krishna. Let's Stop Gender Violence! Every year hundred and thousands of young girls and women of all ages become victims of domestic violence in the hands of their husbands, brothers, close relatives, in-laws and even parents. ... ALIEN LIFE 'FOUND FLOATING ABOVE THE EARTH'

www.sci-news.com - British astrobiologists are claiming to have found alien life form in the Earth’s stratosphere. They collected a small diatom frustule that could have come from space after sending a balloon to 27 km into the stratosphere during the recent Perseid meteor shower.
“Most people will assume that these biological particles must have just drifted up to the stratosphere from Earth, but it is generally accepted that a particle of the size found cannot be lifted from Earth to heights of, for example, 27 km. The only known exception is by a violent volcanic eruption, none of which occurred within three years of the sampling trip,” explained Prof Milton Wainwright from the University of Sheffield, who reported the discovery in the Journal of Cosmology.

“In the absence of a mechanism by which large particles like these can be transported to the stratosphere we can only conclude that the biological entities originated from space. Our conclusion then is that life is continually arriving to Earth from space, life is not restricted to this planet and it almost certainly did not originate here.”
The balloon carried microscope studs which were only exposed to the atmosphere when the balloon reached heights of between 22 and 27 km. It was discovered that they had captured a diatom fragment and some unusual biological entities from the stratosphere, all of which are too large to have come from Earth.  “If life does continue to arrive from space then we have to completely change our view of biology and evolution. New textbooks will have to be written!,” said Wainwright.

Scientists have claimed that they may have found alien life floating above the Earth. They have recovered an unusual sample of organic matter from a height of 27,000m. Professor Milton Wainwright said he was “95 per cent convinced” that the organisms did not originate from earth.  “Statistically, there's no reason why life should originate on earth. There are billions and billions of comets, but most biologists are stuck on earth,” he said. The modern Western understanding of the source and structure of the universe has been based on interpreting celestial phenomena observed by technological devices which were then analyzed within the framework of physics. However, this scientific framework cannot understand the Vedic accounts related to the source of the matter which forms the universes. In the Bhāgavata Purāna it is stated that only because of God the material universes - temporarily manifested by the reactions of the three modes of nature - appear factual, although they are unreal. Scientists, who have been taught only to observe the world from the point of view of modern science, consider these statements as absurd or mythological stories. (Editor's note).

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US? 

Our ideas of the nature of space, time, and matter are essential ingredients in our understanding of the cosmos. When we look into the heavens, our direct sensory data consist of patterns of light. These patterns say nothing, in and of themselves, about the nature of the sources of this light. In order to say something about the cosmic manifestations that have produced the light, it is necessary to assume that the universe is made of some kind of stuff, or matter, that has certain characteristics and obeys certain laws. Given such assumptions, we can then ask ourselves what arrangement of this matter, acting in accordance with the laws, would produce the observed light patterns. If we are successful in putting together a consistent explanation of the observed data based on the assumed laws and properties, then we tend to suppose that we have correctly understood the structure of the universe.

HOLY RADHASHTAMI CELEBRATION

Special puja along with 'bhandara' (huge gathering of people) and community events were organized at various temples to mark the occasion. The birth of Srimati Radharani, the consort of Krishna, is celebrated as Radha Ashtami. The day is celebrated 15 days after Krishna's birth celebrated as Janmashtami. 
The idols of Radha and Krishna were traditionally dressed with flowers. The devotees chanted bhajans and many observed fast on the occasion. Special puja was organized at International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple, at Bithoor where the main attraction of the celebrations was the 'charan darshan' of Radha followed by 'mangal arti'.

“Large number of devotees participated in the event to seek the blessings of Radha Rani,” said Dinesh Singh, media coordinator, ISKCON. At JK Temple, the celebrations began with aarati and was followed by bhajan and abhishek. Local communities organized bhandaras for the people to mark the occasion. According to astrologer Atul Mishra, “'Bhadrapada Shukla Ashtami', the eighth day of the brighter half of Bhadrapada month of the Indian calendar, is celebrated as Radhashtami.”
He explained: “The adya-shakti (primal divine energy) of Lord Vishnu was incarnated as Radhaji in Dvapar age at village Barsana of Brij region as daughter of Kirti and Vrishbhanu in Abhijit muhurta (considered as an auspicious time) in Anuradha nakshatra (a lunar mansion in the Indian vedic astrology).”

Sri Radha Ashtami, or Radhashtami (the birthday of Radha) also known as Radha Jayanti, is a major festival celebrated by Lord Krishna devotees. It falls on the eighth day of the Shukla Paksha (Ashtami on waxing phase of moon) in the month of Bhadrapad (August-September). This year Radha Ashtami was on September 13 (last Friday). Special prayers and pujas were held in temples all around the world. In their previous lives, Raja Vrishabhanu and Queen Kirtikumari (the parents of Radha) were King Suchendra and Queen Kalavati. They had obtained a boon from Lord Brahma that in the Dwapara Yuga, Goddess Lakshmi will be born as their daughter in the form of Radha. According to this boon, King Suchendra and Queen Kalavati took rebirth and Laxmiji was incarnated as Radha. The highest order of devotional service is represented in Srimati Radharani. If we want to render devotional service to our Guru we must learn to be servants. And Sri Radha is our example, because She is the queen of surrender. She is the queen of those going in the right direction, in the good direction. She is the Queen of those dedicated to serve the will of Krishna. (Editor's note).

In this world, we usually go just in the opposite direction: we want to exploit the Lord. We were dazzled by the mystical power of a yogi, we get surprised by his ability to exploit. But this kind of inclination must be stopped and we must approach the sector of those who surrender. Of those who learn to depend. ... We pray for the continued deep absorption into the lotus feet of Sri Krsna. Oh, Sri Radha! You're the queen of those feet, they are Your property, and today is the day of Your supreme appearance. Under those feet we will find you busy, and in the service to the Yours feet, we will find our identity and true satisfaction.

www.indonesia.travel - After a hiatus of 16 years, work on the colossal Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue on Bali will finally resume and will take three years to complete, said I Nyoman Nuarta, Indonesia's maestro sculptor and creator of Bali's iconic statue. Having been postponed since 1997, this magnificent monument is projected to become an exceptional landmark for Indonesia's tourism in this modern age. 
Upon completion, the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) statue will be the largest and tallest statue in the world. Depicting Lord Vishnu mounting the mythical Garuda bird, the statue is planned to reach a total height of 413 feet, weighing no less than 3,000 tons. The majestic GWK statue will then stand taller than the 305 foot Statue of Liberty in New York, United States.

Placed in the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park - a 593 acre tourism park sited on the Bukit Peninsula, the limestone plateau that faces Uluwatu due west and Nusa Dua due east - the 75 foot high head and torso of Lord Vishnu today already stands in place and is the focal point of the park. 
Conceptualized by sculptor, I Nyoman Nuarta, actual work on the statue is, nonetheless, not undertaken in Bali, but in the artist's workshop, NuArt Studio, in the mountain town of Bandung in West Java, involving many artists and experts from various fields to work in this mega project. The entire project will feature two gigantic statues: the head and half torso of Wisnu (Vishnu), and the full form of the Garuda bird.

The Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue or GWK is picturing Lord Vishnu riding on the back of the mythical bird Garuda.The statue and its pedestal building will stand 413 feet high (almost 126 meters) and it will be the second tallest statue in the world - the first is the Spring Temple Buddha statue in China (128 meters) high. This incredible monument will be visible from a 20 Km distance. Lord Vishnu is the one who lives in the hearts of all living beings. He is called Narayana, which means the shelter, resting place or ultimate goal of all living entities. He is also called Hari, or one who removes the darkness of the illusion that makes us believe that we are independent beings who are living apart from, or without connection to God. Garuda, the carrier of Lord Vishnu is a giant eagle. In the śāstras it is said that Garuḍa is a very powerful incarnation of the Brahman feature of the Lord. (Editor's note).

Generally the Vishnu form is manifested with four hands holding four objects - a conchshell, disc, club and lotus flower. However, here Lord Vishnu is described as possessing eight arms with eight kinds of weapons. ... Since the Lord is the supreme controller, whatever is in His hand can be considered a weapon. Four hands hold four kinds of weapons, and the extra four hands hold an arrow, bow, trident and snake. ... He is never alone. Consequently there is no question of the Lord’s being impersonal. He is always Himself, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and His associates are also persons. From the description given in this verse, Garuda appears to belong to the Kinnara planet. The inhabitants of the Kinnara planet have the same features as Garuda. Their bodily features are like those of a human being, but they have wings.

www.independent.co.uk - Serious concerns have been raised tonight about the punishing hours endured by interns at City investment banks following the death of a young Bank of America Merrill Lynch employee. Moritz Erhardt, 21, was nearing the end of a seven-week internship in London when he collapsed at home after working until 6am for three days in a row. His body was discovered by his flatmates. Some reports suggested that Mr Erhardt, from Freiburg, south-west Germany, was epileptic.
Around 300 interns working at various banks stay at the Claredale House student accommodation complex in Bethnal Green in east London for between seven and 10 weeks over the summer. One intern, told The Independent those in Mr Erhardt’s investing banking division group faced the longest hours.

He said: “We all work long hours, but the guys working regularly until 3am or 4am are those in investment banking. People working in markets will have to be in at 6am but not stay as late, so what time you can leave the office depends on your division. Mr Erhardt, who had been earning £2,700 a month or £45,000 pro rata, collapsed from exhaustion. “He apparently pulled eight all-nighters in two weeks. Maybe it was just too much for him in the end,” one intern said. 
The London-based cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra spoke of the health risks to which young banking interns are exposed. He said: “Although we don’t know for sure what caused such a tragic death, we know that working excessive hours, especially night shifts, is an extra risk to health.”

The death of Moritz Erhardt, a young German student working for Merrill Lynch, triggers call for inquiry into excessive working hours in City. “For reasons related to an individual's ambition or the current employment market, people are pretty desperate to get jobs ... some employers are exploiting that fact, pushing people past the point where it makes sense for their health,” said Chris Roebuck, professor of leadership at Cass business school. Another fellow intern explained “There’s a general acceptance of this working system. I see many people wandering around, blurry-eyed and drinking caffeine to get through but people don’t complain because the potential rewards are so great. We’re competing for some very well-paid jobs.” This competitive culture of extreme working hours is an example of the lack of understanding of the true meaning of life. Universities are teaching many things, but do not explain the importance of this human form of life which is made ​​to understand our relationship with the Supreme Lord. Study hard and compete with others for the highest average in the class and thus get a good job should not be an end in itself. Pursue economic development is very well to the extent that it helps us to live without greater economic difficulties and allows us to keep the body in a sound, healthy condition and occupy our minds on higher ideals. Sometimes they spend sleepless days and nights for fruitive gain, and although they may have ulcers or indigestion, they are satisfied with practically no food; they are simply absorbed in working hard day and night for the benefit of illusory masters. ... the foolish worker will untiringly continue to hear of the sense-enjoyable tidings of the flickering mundane world, but will have very little time to hear about the eternal living force that moves the material world.

http://shine.yahoo.com - Kate Middleton is a master of making public statements with her wardrobe. Her latest dress, sent a particularly powerful message for new moms. The palace released photos on Monday of the Duchess of Cambridge happily posing with the second and third heirs to the British throne - her husband Prince William, and their infant son, Prince George, who turns a month old next week. And since her son is blocking most of her figure in the photos, the new mom could have picked just about any outfit she wanted and made it work. 
Her choice? A $79 maternity dress. If there was any message to be gleaned from her style choice, it's that it's OK to take an unmiraculous amount of time when it comes to getting back into shape after delivering a human being.

Who we don't usually see wearing maternity pieces post-delivery, however, are celebs. Svelte celebs like Victoria Beckham, Jessica Alba, Claire Danes, and Jenna Dewan-Tatum have all made headlines for squeezing into form-fitting ensembles weeks after giving birth and bopping around in bikinis a couple of months later. Middleton, however, is a different story. “She's really showing she's not trying to be like a celebrity. She isn't trying to give an image meant to impress or pretend she's already got a flat stomach,” said Cecile Reinaud from Seraphine. 
“She's sending a very nice message to new moms. A big thumbs up to her.” CNN royal contributor Victoria Arbiter told Yahoo! Shine. “It's very clear where William and Kate's priorities are, on each other and on their baby and their family.”

Kate Middleton really deserves a big thumbs up. Lizbeth Scordo, writer of the article, says “Just a day after Prince George's birth, Kate happily stepped out of the hospital with her post-baby belly on full display, prompting cheers from women everywhere.” We agree that Kate has sent “the right message,” in stark contrast to Hollywood celebrities who are shown with a flat stomach and wearing a thong bikini three weeks after childbirth. While we live in the conditioned state we are usually fighting very hard to get material wealth and increase our corporal beauty. Living absorbed in bodily consciousness we cannot understand our real identity or purpose in this life. Fortunately our gurus have given us the instructions to understand our proper position in this world. Srila Prabhupada has taught us that when we are fully immersed in bodily concepts we are identified with something we are not. In order to realize our true identity, the first step is to learn that we are not this body. (Editor's note).

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US? 

The misunderstanding of the conditioned soul is the bodily conception of life. The body is material, but within the body is the soul. This is spiritual understanding. Unfortunately, one who is in ignorance, under the spell of material illusion, accepts the body to be the self. He cannot understand that the body is matter. ... “As the embodied soul continually passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. The self-realized soul is not bewildered by such a change.” (Bg. 2.13) We are not the body; we are spiritual beings trapped in the body. Our real interest lies in understanding this simple fact. Then we can make further spiritual progress. Otherwise, if we remain in the bodily conception of life, our miserable material existence will continue forever.
