TOP MODEL DAUL KIM HANGS HERSELF IN PARIS

20-YEAR-OLD SOUTH KOREAN SUPERMODEL DAUL KIM
WAS FOUND HANGED IN HER PARIS APARTMENT
PARIS (Reuters) - South Korean model Daul Kim was found hanged in her Paris apartment on Thursday, a spokeswoman for the city prosecutor's office said. Police were investigating the cause of the 20-year-old's death and said it was most likely that she committed suicide . Kim's body was found on Thursday morning in her apartment in Paris by a male friend, who alerted the police. "We are in shock and profoundly sad to learn of the death of Daul Kim," said Patrick Lemire, booking director at Marilyn Agency, which had worked with Kim. "She was a real artist, a model with character, she wasn't a weak woman at all," he told Reuters Television. Kim, who modelled for Chanel, Dries Van Noten and Maison Martin Margiela, made her debut at Paris Fashion Week in 2007, according to fashion magazine Vogue's website, www.vogue.com. She had modelled for leading designers, including Chanel, Dries van Noten and Alexander McQueen. Despite her professional success, she had hinted at her desire to end her life in her popular internet blog – a series of poems, photos and thoughts called "I like to Fork Myself".

On November 5, she wrote: “I already accepted that I relate to nothing. The more I gain the more lonely it is... I know I'm like a ghost.” In one blog post she quotes the American philosopher and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson, whose ideas are “considered a reaction to a commercial identity; he calls for a return to individual identity”. And in a final comment on November 18, she posted an entry entitled "Say hi to forever". Kim's blog (iliketoforkmyself.blogspot.com) was last updated on Wednesday, with a YouTube video of the song "I Go Deep" by Jim Rivers. Bloggers in South Korea mourned her death online with many speculating that she had succumbed to the pressure of high-fashion modelling and a loss of identity.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
Simply by committing suicide, how you'll be happy? Because "tathā dehāntara-prāptir" (Bg 2.13), you'll have to accept another body. Either you commit suicide or die naturally, you have to accept. But if you accept natural death and natural body, then your karma “ksaya”, you annihilate your karma, but if you commit suicide, then you become ghost. Because nature's punishment. You got a body and you neglected it, so you now you become, remain without body. That is ghost. Ghost means who does not possess this material body, but he has got the subtle body. That is ghost.
