RAZOR BLADE TURNS UP IN BURGER KING BURGER

CALIFORNIA WOMAN FINDS RAZOR
BLADE IN BURGER KING BURGER
www.nydailynews.com - Health inspectors in Northern California have started a beef with a local Burger King after a woman found a razor blade in her burger. Yolanda Orozco, of Willits, discovered the blade after taking a bite of her burger and then lifting the bun to check for onions. "I was in shock. I was just looking at it," she told local News 10 of finding the small, single edge blade.
"Somebody at Burger King was careless." Cops told News 10 they suspected her complaint was a hoax until they inspected the burger joint's digs and found several razor blades near food prep stations.  Some were found stashed above the burger warning trays.

"I was definitely surprised. I didn't expect to see that," Willits cop Mark McNelley said. Workers there said they use the blades for cleaning purposes. No charges were filed against the store, but the local health department was looking into the matter.
In a statement, Burger King said the franchise owner was cooperating with police. "Food safety is a top priority for Buger King restaurants globally. Burger King Corp. has strict food handling and guest policies and procedures in place that all crew members are required to follow," the statement said. "Franchisees are responsible for implementing these policies and emphasize the proper food safety procedures to all crew members."

When you order your savory Burger King burger, you expect a number of tasty condiments. That list probably doesn’t include a razor blade. In USA, a woman claims that, upon biting into her savory BK burger, she discovered a single-edge blade nestled between the meat patty and the cheese slice. “I was in shock,” said the Willits, Calif. resident. “Somebody at Burger King was careless.” Police initially suspected a hoax, then, they determined that the cutting-edge burger wasn't intentional. According to the police report, employees use razor blades for cleaning, and cops saw them near food. Mmmm ... I think it's not a good recipe. The tendency to error is one feature of every conditioned soul.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
The conditioned soul has four defects: (1) bhrama (‘the tendency to error’), (2) pramada (‘inattention’), (3) karanapatava (‘the inadequacy of the senses’) and (4) vipralipsa (‘the desire to deceive’). Any conditioned soul has these defects. The word pramada means ‘inattention.’ Even when the senses do their job, the mind is not entirely attentive and so makes further errors. Karanapatava means the incapacity of the senses to properly perceive anything. ... Even the greatest scholars cannot free themselves of these defects when it comes to assessing transcedence. In these matters, the words of the Veda, which are not the product of human beings, are the only source of sure knowledge.

ANOTHER VICTIM OF BULLYING NOW IN ARGENTINA

ARGENTINIAN GIRL VICTIM OF
SCHOOL VIOLENCE IS PARAPLEGIC
www.diariouno.com.ar - A girl from the province of Corrientes, Argentina, became paraplegic after suffering a case of "bullying" in her school performed by one schoolmate who "harassed" her steadily as her mother remarked. Claudia Jesi, told that her daughter  of 11 years old named Abril, suffered a stroke between the fourth and fifth vertebrae during a physical education class in the Normal School in the town of Mercedes. She was pushed by another child.
The victim had to be admitted at the "John Paul II" pediatric hospital in the provincial capital of Corrientes and lot of rehabilitation will be required to improve her condition during at least six months. However, it is not known yet whether she can recover. "Abril lost sensation in the legs because she suddenly fell, and all the weight was against the column, if it had not raised her head she would broke the skull," said the girl's mother. The girl who hit and dropped her been was bothering and pushing Abril for some time.

According to Abril's mother, the other girl "was upset" because her daughter "was the Queen of Spring in her class, and she is nice and very dear." As she fell she lost her breath, so the teacher made her the first practices to make her breathe again. "She was under observation in the hospital and then she was resting in my house, but some days later she lost all the feeling. They did the MRI. The bone has a hit between the fourth and fifth vertebrae and has up to six months of rehabilitation," said the mother.
"The school authorities are concerned. The issue of having a paraplegic girl due another class mate actions obviously involves us all. This is a case of bullying, but I never thought it would come to that. Now Abril is not walking, she must be diapered like a baby, it's hard ... but you have to face reality," said the grieving mother. School harassment, better known as "bullying" is becoming more common in schools around the world and even teenagers who had to suffer this kind of situations reached the edge of killed themselves.

Abril, an Argentinian girl of 11 years old, was attacked by a class mate during a physical education class, and after a push she badly fell and suffered a blow to the vertebrae. It is not known if she can walk again. The relatives alleged that she suffered harassment for some time, and the aggression was because she is nice and provoked the envy of other girls. She has "at least six months of rehabilitation" but doctors can not be sure if she will recover from paralysis. Marcela Fernández, from the Pablo Nicolás Association, an organization that works in preventing school violence, said that "sometimes such violent attacks happen because we are dealing with ciberbullyng: children are harassed each other for hours through social networks and when they met the violence becomes exaggerated". Another sad event. Say NO to Bullying!

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
Our mundane feelings of attraction and aversion for material objects light the fire of envy, egoism, and hatred so much so that it seems they have the ability to destroy this world. If even a drop of pure affection arises in our hearts for the incarnation of Mahaprabhu’s magnanimity, then no place will remain for these animal propensities like hatred, jealousy, or violence to others. ... How can any attachment or hatred for material objects find a place in the heart where attachment to the guru, the eternal associate of Srimati Radharani, has awakened? In such a heart, there is constant awareness of the absolute necessity of attaining the supreme goal of life, loving service to Sri Krishna. This alone is the ultimate purpose of life for every single living entity.

ARMSTRONG LOSES TITLES, BANNED FOR LIFE

LANCE ARMSTRONG IS STRIPPED
OF HIS 7 TOUR DE FRANCE TITLES
www.nytimes.com - The International Cycling Union announced Monday that it would not appeal the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s ruling to bar Lance Armstrong for life from Olympic sports for doping and for playing an instrumental role in the team-organized doping on his Tour de France-winning cycling squads. That decision to waive the right to take Armstrong’s case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the highest court in sports, formally stripped Armstrong of the seven Tour titles he won from 1999 to 2005. “Lance Armstrong has no place in cycling; he deserves to be forgotten in cycling,” Pat McQuaid, the president of the cycling union, known as U.C.I., said in a news conference in Switzerland. McQuaid said he was “sickened” by the facts in the 202-page report the antidoping agency made public two weeks ago regarding the evidence it had in the Armstrong case, and called it mind-boggling how former teammates like the five-time national time-trial champion David Zabriskie were pushed to use performance-enhancing drugs.

McQuaid said that Armstrong’s teams had a “win at all costs” attitude fueled by “deceit, intimidation, coercion and evasion,” and that all of the evidence was there to prove that Armstrong doped. He added that he was sorry the cycling union had not caught Armstrong and his teammates “red handed” so he could have thrown them out of the sport. Armstrong, who has vehemently denied ever doping, declined to comment Monday. His biography on his Twitter page had been changed to no longer say he is the seven-time Tour de France winner.
The antidoping agency applauded the cycling union’s acceptance of the penalties the agency gave Armstrong in August. The cycling union’s announcement delivered yet another devastating blow to Armstrong, who has unceremoniously fallen from grace within the past two weeks. Also, the International Olympic Committee is reviewing Armstrong’s case and will probably strip him of the bronze medal he won at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Cycling’s governing body has stripped famed U.S. cyclist Lance Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles and banned him for life. The International Cycling Union has ratified the sanctions handed down in August by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which stripped Armstrong of the titles he won from 1999 to 2005.  “A lot of these guys made a lot of money out of their cheating. A lot have admitted they cheated and apologized to their family and friends, but they have not apologized to the U.C.I. or the sport,” said Pat McQuaid, the president of the cycling union. “The greatest offense is the culture of lies and corruption several people created in the small world of cycling to protect its million-dollar man”, said Shannon J. Owens, a Sports commentator. In this material world, the conditioned souls have four defects, one of which is Vipralipsa which is the tendency to deceive or cheat.

Bhrama means the tendency to think something that is true to be false and vice versa.  ... The word Pramada means ‘inattention.’ Even when the senses do their job, the mind is not entirely attentive and so makes further errors.  Karanapatava means the incapacity of the senses to properly perceive anything.  And the last fault is quite devastating; it is Vipralipsa, ‘the desire to deceive.’ ... The four flaws, i.e., the desire to deceive, inattentiveness, the inadequacy of the senses, and the tendency to error, affect the judgment of every human being. Even the greatest scholars cannot free themselves of these defects when it comes to assessing transcedence.

AT LEAST 53 KILLED IN MEXICO CASINO

ARSON FIRE KILLS 53
IN A CASINO IN MEXICO
Mexico City - In what Mexican officials have called an “act of terror,” a half dozen gunmen burst into a casino in Mexico’s industrial capital of Monterrey Thursday, sprayed the place with gasoline, and started a fire in the bingo section, killing at least 53 people.  Speaking to Monterrey’s leading newspaper El Norte, Nuevo León Gov. Rodrigo Medina said that at least 53 people had been killed in the attack, making it the bloodiest attack suffered by this prosperous city, which has been rocked by spiraling drug violence in the last year. Monterrey is the capital of Nuevo León state.  Officials said they expected the death toll to continue to climb in what appeared to be an attack linked to warring drug cartels, although there was no immediate information linking the massacre to drug traffickers. Up to 80 people were in the casino when it was attacked.

“Six hooded gunmen came in, shouting obscenities and firing their guns,” said a person at the scene who asked not to be named. “They drenched the place with gasoline. People were running as the place went up in flames. Those who stayed behind burned to death.”  Videos of the Casino Royale by local news channels showed a grim scene of rescue workers dragging bodies out by their feet as billowing clouds of black smoke came out of the building. One fireman appeared to be attempting rescues from a crane. The entrance to the casino was charred black and a sign reading “Royale” stood beside it.  The massacre in the Casino Royale in an upper-middle-class area of the city was the second such attack on an entertainment center in the past two months in Monterrey. The attack on the casino, located on one of Monterrey’s main avenues, took place at about 3:30 p.m. when six men drove up in two cars, officials said.
Armed men burst into a casino in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey and set a fire that killed at least 53 people and injured several others.  The attack at the Casino Royale, was the worst massacre since a crackdown on drug gangs by the authorities and infighting among the gangs exploded more than five years ago.  Casinos, growing in number across the country, have also emerged lately as targets of extortion, violence and money laundering.  Kali-yuga resides in four places: brothels, liquor shops, slaughterhouses and gambling casinos.  There, greed, lust, pride, and violence are perceived.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
King Pariksit, in disciplining the Personification of Kali, submitted to his earnest plea and granted him five places for his residence, irreligion to flourish. These are namely gambling, liquor and all other stimulants, illicit sexual intercourse, violence (brutal killing of defenseless creatures) and gold (money used in the service of the Lord properly does not fall into this category). The practice of gambling breeds dishonesty, drinking of intoxicants and taking of stimulants lead to loss of austerities. ... Hence those desiring their highest welfare should not indulge in any of these sinful activities at all, especially the religious minded person. A King and spiritual leader or ‘guru’ should shun all such activities from a distance. Such indulgence in irreligion will only deteriorate the character of the individual and all his so called preaching will be of no avail.
